From Middle Distance Runner to Pro Tour Contract in less than 2 Years

In this podcast I am speaking with James aka Jimmy Whelan. This time two years ago, James (Jimmy) Whelan was travelling overseas in Europe with a close buddy to experience life as a kid. This came post a debilitating Achilles injury that became the clincher to alter Jimmy’s direction away from aspirations to become an Olympic middle distance runner. At the backend of 2016 Jimmy started riding to keep fit and decided to give racing a go, buying a 3-race pass at his local Hawthorn Cycling Club criteriums.
